Welcome to Chile

Wednesday 4 March 2020

Today caught the bus (Bus Sur) that travels between El Calafate to Puerto Natales in Chile.

Travelled south for a few hours passing many properties and farms. We ten turned of onto a gravel rough road for about 20 minutes and had my passport stamped to indicate leaving Argentina after about 1Km we were at the Chile borderland entry formalities were completed.

The Chilean border at Don Guillerno.
The proximity of Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine makes it ideal for visiting the National Park (Torres del Paine)
The road to Puerto Natales gives a good view of the Andes and the waters of Seno Ultima Esperanza
(Last Hope Sound)

The port at Puerto Natales

On arrival at Puerto Natales I met my guide, Maria Solidad (SOL) a well organised and very charming and warm but professional guide who took me to my apartment and oriented me to the layout of the town.
